This study aims to improve the current state of creative self-efficacy, job autonomy, knowledge sharing, perceived organizational support, and teacher innovative behavior. The study also aims to design and implement practical Organization Development Interventions to foster teacher innovation. It examines the changes in teacher innovative behavior before and after the ODIs, as well as investigates the interconnections among creative self-efficacy, job autonomy, knowledge sharing, perceived organizational support, and teacher innovative behavior. A mixed research method was employed, with 70 full-time teachers from Zhanjiang University of Science and Technology’s School of Management serving as the sample for a four-month intervention. The research utilized both questionnaires and interviews as data collection instruments. The analysis revealed significant differences between Pre-ODI and Post-ODI in both independent variables (creative self-efficacy, job autonomy, knowledge sharing, perceived organizational support) and the dependent variable (teacher innovative behavior). The data analysis results corroborate the existence of positive relationships between creative self-efficacy, job autonomy, knowledge sharing, perceived organizational support, and their influence on fostering teacher innovative behavior. The study revealed the impact of elements such as innovative self-efficacy and job autonomy on the innovative behaviors of university teachers, while also testifying that such behaviors can be effectively enhanced through rationally designed Organizational Development Interventions (ODI). The findings offer valuable insights for research in areas including higher education administration, policy formulation for teacher development, and the optimization of teacher training design.

2025-04-25T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 https://auojs.au.edu/index.php/odijournal/article/view/8808 A Model For Enhancing Teachers Leadership Competencies In Higher Vocational Colleges In Weifang City, China 2024-12-09T03:33:00+00:00 Ding Zhao jtzyxy@qq.com Nathara Mhunpiew wipaMhn@au.edu Siam Kaewprasith bsgsiam@au.edu
Teacher leadership has received much attention in recent years in both Chinese and Western educational circles. The proposed model was based on the theoretical evidence of social exchange theory (SET) and the social identity theory (SIT). The SET posits that when one person receives a favor from another, he tends to reciprocate it to the other person. Social identity theory (SIT) theory, on the other hand, proposes that when a person identifies himself as a member of the organization, he will be more committed to the organization’s goal. A self-administered questionnaire was distributed among 433 employees in major retail companies in Bangkok. Multiple Linear Regression analyses were used to test the hypotheses for analysis. Findings revealed that transformational leadership has a significant influence on increasing work-life balance, coworker support, and organizational commitment among employees while coworker support and work-life balance significantly increase organizational commitment. Coworker support was also found to reduce emotional exhaustion. Finally, organizational commitment causes a significant increase in job satisfaction and reduces emotional exhaustion.

2025-04-25T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 https://auojs.au.edu/index.php/odijournal/article/view/8620 Experiential Tourism Marketing to Create a Memorable Experience for International Tourist in Bangkok 2024-10-11T01:13:48+00:00 Khin Thiri Thein khinthirithein16@gmail.com Adarsh Batra adarshbtr@yahoo.co.in John Barnes barnesjohn2020@gmail.com
This study explores the role of experiential tourism marketing in creating memorable experiences for tourists in Bangkok, Thailand. Most of the studies reported that regional languages are used in translanguaging, yet no particular research has been done on the use of regional languages. The current study aims to reveal teachers’ views on using the most spoken regional language in Indonesia, Javanese, in teaching English and to describe how the teachers use Javanese in their classes. Therefore, four English teachers from a private university in Central Java, Indonesia, were interviewed, and their classes were observed. The study found that all of the teachers have a positive attitude toward using Javanese, and they expressed three reasons for using the regional language: getting students ‘attention, building rapport with students, and expressing specific meaning. The study also found that the teachers' use of Javanese was limited to only serving interpersonal functions, marking relationships, social closeness, identity, and cultural values, not ideational or textual functions, which are more related to the delivery of the lessons. This includes employing different languages for both input and output and planning strategies that utilize the linguistic resources present in students' entire language repertoire. This study aimed to investigate the use of pedagogical translanguaging in an English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classroom at Yunnan Agricultural University(YAU) to uncover the interactional strategies employed by the teacher to enhance classroom interactions. Fifteen hours of classroom video recordings and teacher's field notes were collected for conversation analysis (CA) within the self-evaluation of teacher talk (SETT) framework. The findings indicated that the teacher's talk aligned with the SETT grid across four pedagogical modes. The sequence of initiate (I), response (R), feedback (F), and scaffolding were frequently used in teacher-student interactions to achieve pedagogical goals. Translanguaging practices in teachers' talk mainly assisted with meaning-making and facilitated classroom interactions. Furthermore, the teacher adjusted the interactional strategies according to the different pedagogical goals and the situations while interacting with the students. The research suggests that using pedagogical translanguaging can enhance classroom interaction. However, further investigation is needed to improve its implementation and effectiveness in English language teaching and learning.

2025-04-25T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 https://auojs.au.edu/index.php/odijournal/article/view/8311 Teachers’ Perceptions on Competencies and Professional Development Options: A Case Study of a Private School in Bangkok 2024-08-22T07:45:51+00:00 Nongnapat Phungern nongnapat.phungern@gmail.com Nathara Mhunpiew wipaMhn@au.edu
This research examines teachers' perceptions of their competencies based on the Southeast Asia Teachers Competency Framework, identifies the specific professional development needs of teachers at a selected private school in Bangkok, and investigates the effectiveness of current professional development programs while gathering suggestions for improvements. This study employed a narrative approach, using narrative writing texts to explore the lived experiences of English teachers working in international and private schools during this period of instability. Through qualitative methodology, the study collected and analyzed personal stories, revealing the multifaceted challenges faced by these educators. Thematic analysis of the narratives uncovered a range of professional, personal, social, emotional, and legal challenges that deeply impacted their lives. Key themes identified include financial hardships, social isolation, emotional stress, legal threats, and the loss of qualified teachers, leading to a decline in teaching standards and student learning outcomes.
